Ozyptila scabricula is Nationally Scarce (Notable B) and is a species of dry sandy or stony heathland. In Britain, it has only been recorded from about 20 hectads, mainly in southern areas. The only English record west of Dorset is from Chapel Porth on the north coast of Cornwall but the spider was last seen there in 1968.
