Ozyptila blackwalli is Nationally Scarce (Notable B). Its 'typical' habitat is under stones among cliff top vegetation It is frequent at a few sites on the south coast but has only been recorded from two tetrads in Cornwall. The Kynance Cove record held by the Spider Recording Scheme dates from before 1951. There is, however, an ERCCIS record from this site dated 1967 from a reliable recorder. There is also an ERCCIS record for Spernic Cove from Boxing Day 1974. Adults are not normally around in December so this record requires confirmation.
