Tibellus maritimus has a scattered distribution in Britain and appears to be quite scarce in southwest England. It occurs in damp places on the stems of vegetation such as reeds, grass and heather. The Spider Recording Scheme holds only one record for this species from Penhale sand dunes made in 1979 (it was re-discovered recently, near to this locality--the red dot on the map). The ERCCIS record from Goonhilly Downs dates from 1971 and requires confirmation.
