Philodromus cespitum is widespread and common in England and Wales. It is found in heathland, among heather in bogs, and in scrub and woody areas. Occasionally, the species is found in houses. There are several scattered records from Cornwall. However, the species boundaries in Philodromus are not always clear and all records need to be supported by voucher specimens.
