Lathys stigmatisata is Nationally Rare (RDB3). Outside Cornwall, the species is known only from Pembrokeshire, Lundy Island, Kent and East Sussex. The earliest records were from Kynance Cove where Lathys stigmatisata has not been seen since the 1920s. It was found at Chapelporth in 1965, but nowhere in Cornwall since. It should be looked for under stones among heather and grass. Systematic collecting is sure to turn up this species in the future.
