Cryphoeca silvicola is normally found in leaf litter in woodlands and under bark. It is fairly widespread in Britain but is more common in northern areas. The only locality held by the Spider Recording Scheme is Redrice Wood (1997). However, Cryphoeca silvicola was found nearby at Tremaddock in October 2002.
