Tegenaria atrica has a scattered distribution in Britain. Most records are from buildings involved in international trade and the specimens that have turned up are probably chance importations. There are a few records for Tegenaria atrica from Cornwall but the localities are mostly away from buildings, an atypical habitat for this species. I have checked specimens of Tegenaria 'atrica' from three sites in Cornwall and all were Tegenaria saeva. Thus there are no certain records for the county. Nevertheless, Tegenaria atrica could turn up here in the future as it is common in Eire, and in continental Europe.
