Agelena labyrinthica is very common in Cornwall. Indeed, rather like Araneus diadematus, it is difficult to find a bush in the Summer and Autumn that does not have at least one web of this distinctive species. The web is large (about the size of a football) with a tubular silk retreat in which the spider hides (often a male and female can be found together in the same web). When prey lands in the web, the spider rushes out and grabs it.
