Cyclosa conica is a species of sheltered situations and is typically found on evergreen trees such as Yew. The orb web has a characteristic vertical strip of silk (the stabilimentum). The spider has a distinctive shape with a conical protuberance of the abdomen (hence conica). The Spider Recording Scheme only holds two records for this species but there are several ERCCIS localities identified by reliable recorders.
