Zilla diodia is Nationally Scarce (Notable B). It is locally abundant in SE England but is rare in Cornwall. There are only two ERCCIS records dating from the 1970s which need confirmation. In May 2004, the species was found at Polgaver Bay, St. Austell. The spider should be looked for in bushes, brambles and heather where it spins an orb web.
