Lepthyphantes tenebricola has a widespread but scattered distribution in Britain. It is not particularly common in the south and this is reflected by the fact that it has only been recorded from two tetrads in Cornwall. The single record held by the Spider Recording Scheme (green dot) is from Trerice Wood in May 1997. The ERCCIS record (blue dot) is from the Chyverton Estate made in May 1974.
