Thyreosthenius parasiticus is found in dark damp habitats throughout Britain although there are no definite records for Devon or Cornwall. However, it does appear on an old Cornish checklist. The localities are described as 'subterranean places' which would certainly fit with its known habitat requirements. In view of the large number of disused mines in the County, it would not be surprising if it turned up in the future.
