Evansia merens lives in the nests of ants. It has a pronounced northwest bias to its distribution in Britain and there are very few records south of a line drawn through the Wash and the Severn Estuary. There are only two records from Cornwall. The species was found at Chapel Porth on the north coast in 1968, and there is an ERCCIS record from Redruth dated February 1996.
