Cnephalocotes obscurus is locally frequent and is found in leaf litter, moss and detritus. In Cornwall, there are records from the west of the County in the Treen area (1968) and Longdowns (early 1980s). Most recently (1996), the species turned up at Tregantle Fort, Whitsand Bay near Antony.
