Silometopus ambiguus is a local species found in a variety of habitats, always close to the sea. The only record from Cornwall is from salt marsh in the extreme east of the County at Wacke Quay, Anthony in April 1996. This species is likely to be present in many more sheltered coastal habitats in Cornwall.
