Walckenaeria nudipalpis is common and widespread in Britain. It seems to prefer moist habitats and is often found on the tops of fence posts preparing to 'balloon' by extruding a strand of silk from its spinnerets. This is caught by the wind and transports the spider some considerable distance enabling it to colonise new habitats.
There a few scattered records in Cornwall, the most recent in 1983. It is clearly an under-recorded species.
