Ceratinella brevis is widespread in Britain although it is less common than Ceratinella brevipes. This is certainly the case in Cornwall where it has only been found in six tetrads. It seems to occur in drier habitats than Ceratinella brevipes. There is one record from the Scillies in 1987, but Ceratinella brevis has not been found in Cornwall since 1979.
