Theridion sisyphium is widespread and reasonably common in Cornwall, although it has not yet been recorded from the Scilly Isles. The species spins its web in bushes, heather and other similar vegetation. The egg case of the female is a characteristic green colour (Figs. 1, 2). When the babies emerge from the silken cocoon, the female feeds them from her mouth for a short period before they leave her web to begin their independent lives.
