Episinus angulatus produces a simple H-shaped web at or near ground level and is found in a wide variety of habitats. It is not particularly common in Cornwall but should be looked for among low vegetation. Sweep netting is probably a good technique to use to collect this species.
In October 2005, I caught a specimen of
Episinus angulatus 'ballooning' past me at about head height on the Promenade at Penzance.
