Ero furcata is one of the 'pirate spiders' that invades the webs of other spiders and preys on them. It is sometimes found together with Ero cambridgei. Both species can be found in trees, low vegetation, bushes and sand dunes (e.g. at Penhale). Ero furcata is widespread and common in England and Wales and is clearly under recorded in Cornwall. It has been trapped in an interstitial trap in coastal shingle so should be looked for in a wide variety of habitats.
