Harold Gough recorded this species from Cheshire and the Lake District and his figures (Gough 1978) leave little doubt as to its identity. However, I have not been able to examine any specimens. Micranurida granulata is a small white species (up to 0.7 mm in length) with a very broad body shape. There is a tiny vestigial furca present ventrally on abd4. The eyes have 3+3 pigmented ocelli and the post-antennal organ is circular with between 9 and 13 vesicles. There are so few records that it is impossible to come to any conclusions regarding its distribution.
