Schoettella ununguiculata is a rare bluish-black species which reaches 1.2 mm in length. The only specimen I have seen was collected by Peter Lawrence from moss at Woodwalton Fen in 1963. The species has a small four-lobed PAO (Fig. 1), 8+8 ocelli, a small pair of anal spines (Fig. 2), a furca with a long mucro (Fig. 3), and lacks an empodial appendage on the foot (Fig. 4).
