Proisotoma minima  is a moderately common and widespread species. It is white with traces of blue pigment on the head and has eyes composed of 5+5 ocelli (Fig. 1). The manubrium has 1+1 ventral setae, the dens has six ventral setae and the mucro has three teeth (Fig. 2). Proisotoma minima has been collected mainly from acidic leaf litter.
