Christiansen & Bellinger (1998) suggested that all records of Sinella caeca probably refer to the closely-related species Sinella tenebricosa Folsom, 1902. The evidence to date supports this conclusion as all specimens of Sinella 'caeca' I have seen were in fact Sinella tenebricosa (see map for Sinella tenebricosa for details).
     Sinella caeca should almost certainly be removed from the checklist.
