Pseudosinella petterseni is a blind, littoral species which was described by Börner in 1901 and is known only from a single specimen collected by Bagnall from St. Helen's Bay, County Down, Ireland in April 1938. The clearest diagnostic feature is the presence of a prominent tooth on the outer edge of the empodial appendage of the foot (Fig. 1). The tenant seta on the outer distal tibiotarsus is spatulate (Fig. 2) (cf. Pseudosinella halophila in which this tenant seta is pointed).
