There are a few scattered records for Pseudosinella octopunctata from Ireland and the north of England, all by Bagnall. Each eye of this species has four ocelli arranged in a tight group in a single pigment spot on each side of the head. Unfortunately, most of Bagnall's slides of Pseudosinella octopunctata are in such poor condition that it is impossible to resolve the ocelli. The few specimens in which the ocelli can seen all have 2+2 ocelli (i.e. two ocelli on each side of the head) and are obviously Pseudosinella alba. However, it is possible that Pseudosinella octopunctata could occur here in soil and leaf litter. The number of ocelli should be carefully checked in specimens of Pseudosinella which have a single spot of pigment on each side of the head.
